Ready for the future
Dear readers,
In psychology, resilience means being able to make constructive decisions even in uncertain times. This is a quality we’re all going to need even more than we may have thought, both now and in the future. These decisions will be necessary on the one hand personally, and on the other, for our companies and businesses.
The packaging industry will continue to be a challenging one over the next few years. Not only do we need to build an interdisciplinary, environmentally friendly circular economy, we are also facing the task of reducing and transforming resource and energy consumption in our own buildings and production facilities. For Schubert, this means consistently driving forward the fields of action of our Mission Blue Sustainability Initiative. After all, this is where the concrete solutions for a more liveable, economically secure future will be conceived. In this issue of SEQUENCE, we share with you the future topics we are currently working on. We have also listened to some external voices on the topic: Trend researcher Prof. Peter Wippermann and board member Insa Dehne from the Unverpackt e.V. association have provided their input, as has food trend researcher Hanni Rützler. You will also find out what technological innovations we are working on, what our sustainable packaging development means for you, and what Schubert is doing to become a model sustainable company.
These developments would not be possible for our company without in-depth exchanges of ideas and insight. We would especially like to thank our partners and customers for their trust-based and fruitful collaboration. This issue of SEQUENCE is in no small part thanks to you. But we are even more delighted about real experiences than printed paper: After an unbelievably long six-year break, we will finally have the opportunity to present all these topics to you live again at interpack 2023! We have many exciting innovations for the future of packaging to show you, from the Cobot to a prototype for a new machine generation, and from services relating to sustainable packaging to new customer machines.
Resilient systems excel in flexibility – an encouraging perspective against the backdrop of Schubert’s flexible technology. So, enjoy reading and stay flexible!
