Three successful fairs in autumn

At three trade fairs in autumn, Schubert had the opportunity to consolidate contacts in Europe and North America and to establish new ones

The Flowmodul is Schubert’s eighth standard component. It enables the seamless integration of flowpack packaging into a TLM packaging system.

With the Flowmodul, small batch sizes, short product lifecycles and a high level of product variety can be handled more efficiently than ever before. This is what makes the application so attractive for many industries. “As anticipated, the Schubert Flowmodul has become an important growth factor for our corporate group,” says Johannes Schubert, who has been responsible for the Flowmodul as product manager since January 2017.

At the Drinktec fair, the focus was once again on the compact combination of a filling line from KHS with the TLM technology.

At the same time, the PPMA Show in Birmingham hosted the leading trade fair for the packaging industry on the British Isle. The Schubert UK team were very pleased with the positive feedback from customers, who praised the very effective trade fair presentation.

The Schubert packaging line shown at the PPMA Show consisted of three TLM sub-machines that combine flexibility, performance and efficiency in an extremely compact manner. The respective modules take on the erection, filling and closing of cartons, and are seamlessly connected via the Transmodul transport robot. Van Wijngaarden, the Dutch manufacturer of delicatessen products, will be using the machine presented at the show to package mayonnaise into a variety of container formats. At the fair, visitors experienced live how the TLM machine packs 450 ml mayonnaise jars into cartons using the counterflow principle.

The machine attracted an unexpected number of new customers to the stand. With a 70 per cent share of all visitors to the booth, the new customer contacts in Birmingham were especially high and therefore confirm the relevance of this industry platform for Schubert. “We recorded a 15 per cent increase in demand compared to the last PPMA in 2016 and therefore will definitely be back in Birmingham for the next show,” says Mark Stepney, Managing Director of Schubert UK Limited.

The system can pack beverage crates as well as baskets, clusters and other cardboard packaging.

In September, Schubert also had a “guest appearance” at their partner KHS’s booth at the Drinktec fair. Once again, the focus was on the compact combination of a filling line with TLM technology. With the Innopack TLM, we were able to yet again highlight our expertise in the interface-free integration of primary and secondary packaging processes. This topic will continue to drive momentum among our development teams in view of further providing customers in an even wider range of industries with more efficient, space-saving and flexible solutions.

Gerhard Schubert GmbH at the Fachpack 2024 trade fair in Nuremberg

With the new EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) along with increasing demands for climate protection across the board, the packaging industry will have more than enough to discuss at this year’s Fachpack.‘Transition in Packaging’ is the event’s fitting motto from 24 to 26 September 2024 in Nuremberg. Visitors to the fair will have an opportunity to find out about the full range of sustainable, cost-effective solutions that Schubert, the packaging machine manufacturer from Crailsheim, has developed for consumer goods manufacturers at Stand 244 in Hall 1. As an example for the new ‘Power Compact’ machine concept – high output in the smallest space with lean yet high-quality technology – a bar packer with a single-lane erector and feeding via the Comfort Feeder will be in operation at the stand. The Schubert experts will also be demonstrating how further sustainability potential through the interaction between packaging and machine technology can be harnessed.

Schubert at Automation UK 2024

Last year, Automation UK took place for the first time in Coventry, England. As a result of its resounding success, the trade fair for automation and robotics is now entering its second round – and will be taking place this year on 18 and 19 June. Schubert UK Ltd will, of course, be participating once again. Schubert’s UK sales location was not only an exhibitor last year, but it is also a co-founder of Automation UK. In the CBS Arena at Stand F10, the British team, led by Mark Stepney, will be providing information on the Germany-based company’s latest highly flexible, efficient, and resource-saving solutions for packaging products of all kinds and from all sectors. This year, visitors to the Schubert stand will have an opportunity to view a tog.519 cobot live and in action. At Automation UK, the mobile robot will be demonstrating how it can pick & place unsorted products at speeds of up to 90 cycles per minute using the AI-supported vision system.
